How Does the Season Affect Your Wedding Marquee Choice?
Summer Weddings (May to August)
Summer is peak wedding season. Sailcloth or Clearspan make the most of long evenings and open countryside views, with good airflow keeping guests comfortable once the marquee’s fully enclosed.
Spring Weddings (March to April)
Gardens look their best, weather stays unpredictable. Clearspan and Sailcloth handle both, with heating on standby for cooler evenings.
Autumn Weddings (September to October)

How Far in Advance Should You Book?
Peak wedding dates between May and September book the fastest, with Saturdays and bank holiday weekends often secured 12 months or more in advance. For quieter dates outside peak season, 4 to 6 months is usually sufficient, although earlier booking always gives more choice of structures and availability.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Marquee Hire
Is a marquee wedding cheaper than a traditional venue?
Often, yes. Marquee weddings skip the venue hire fee and the corkage charge that come with a fixed venue, and you’re free to choose your own suppliers. Flooring, heating and toilets are separate costs, so the real saving depends on your guest count and what your venue already offers. We’ll run the numbers properly at your free site survey.
Can I have 200 or more guests in a wedding marquee?
Yes, comfortably. Our large clearspan and linked structures scale well past 200 guests, with room to spare for a proper dance floor and a working bar. Numbers this size need a site survey to get the layout right, not just the headcount.
What’s the difference between a clearspan marquee and a stretch tent?
A clearspan marquee is fully enclosed and built to handle whatever the British weather throws at it, ideal for a formal reception. A stretch tent trades that for a looser, more contemporary look, and copes with sloped or awkward gardens a rigid frame can’t. Most couples choose on look first, weather second.
What are the deposit and cancellation terms?
A deposit locks in your date, with the balance due closer to the event. Full terms come with your booking pack, and if your date needs to move, talk to us early. We’d rather shift your wedding than lose it.
Do you help arrange other wedding suppliers?
Yes. Eighteen years across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire means we know which caterers, florists and entertainers are worth booking, and we’ll point you toward them. It’s not a formal referral scheme, just advice from people who’ve worked alongside the best in the region.
Can you set up a wedding marquee in winter?
Absolutely, and winter weddings have become one of our most requested dates. Heating and solid flooring do most of the work, with enclosed sides keeping draughts out, so guests forget it’s cold outside within minutes of walking in. Book early though, since winter dates fill up faster than most couples expect.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
Nothing changes inside the marquee. It’s fully waterproof, so the day carries on exactly as planned. The bit worth thinking about is getting guests from the car park to the entrance dry, which is why we usually suggest solid flooring and a covered walkway if rain looks likely.
Do you need planning permission for a marquee in the Cotswolds?
Most private weddings don’t, thanks to the 28-day temporary structure exemption that covers the vast majority of garden and estate weddings. Listed properties and certain AONB locations can carry extra restrictions, so we check this for you as part of your free site survey rather than leaving you to find out the hard way.
